Veson Nautical and Marcura announced an expanded partnership that connects Marcura Claims with IMOS, giving joint clients more options for managing demurrage claims.

Organizations in today’s markets operate a variety of unique workflows, especially when it comes to demurrage management. To meet teams’ distinct needs, operators and charterers can manage demurrage claims using the claims capabilities within the Veson Platform, or through the new connection with Marcura Claims.

Marcura’s port cost management solution DA-Desk has been integrated with IMOS for more than 10 years, seamlessly bringing port costs directly to the voyage P&L. The new integration connects IMOS voyage data with Marcura Claims and is free to all joint IMOS Claims module clients and Marcura Claims customers.

"The integration of Marcura Claims with IMOS eliminates a previously manual process and ensures claim data is synchronized automatically across systems,” said Nikolaj Petersen, Director of Digitalization, Pacific Basin Shipping. “Beyond the efficiency gains, it improves data quality, transparency, and the timeliness of commercial information available to our teams."

Marcura Claims pulls voyage details from IMOS, so teams know when a claim can be initiated. Once a claim has been processed in Marcura Claims, the system automatically creates a corresponding claim in IMOS, including full laytime calculations and voyage status.

“Demurrage is one of the few voyage items that runs through operations, claims and finance before it's done,” said Dylan Ray Mace, Vice President, Sales and Partnerships at Marcura. “Connecting Marcura Claims with IMOS means the voyage data a claim depends on is already there when the claim is opened, and the settled figure flows back to the voyage P&L when it's closed. Customers spend less time moving information between systems and more time on the claim itself, whether they are the issuing or settling party.”

Together, IMOS and Marcura Claims have created a faster, more automated workflow that reduces potential errors and gives teams more time to prioritize the aspects of the claim that actually impact voyage P&L.

“Our clients shouldn't have to choose between the tools they've already invested in and the depth of what Veson provides natively," said Christine Sullivan, Chief Product Officer at Veson Nautical. “That's why we continue to invest in third-party integrations like Marcura Claims — giving clients the flexibility to work across the solutions they already rely on, without giving up any of the capability built natively into IMOS and the Veson Platform. Our expanded collaboration with Marcura is a strong example of that approach in action.”
