Mark IV Capital celebrated a major milestone for its Victory Logistics District with a Silver Spike Ceremony on August 20th commemorating the completion of the development’s industrial rail spur. The 4,300-acre master-planned industrial district is now officially connected to the national rail network.

The ceremony brought together state and local officials, economic development leaders, tribal representatives, project partners, tenants, and community stakeholders for this major rail infrastructure enhancement, which expands regional multimodal transportation capabilities and supports Northern Nevada’s economic engine. Congressman Mark Amodei representing Nevada’s 2nd District, Executive Director Tom Burns of the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development, and Chairman and CEO Evan Slavik and Senior Vice President Rick Nelson of Mark IV Capital all delivered remarks at the event.

The completed rail spur, comprising more than one mile of new Union Pacific track built to Class I standards, connects directly to the transcontinental main line, with three run-around tracks serving one hundred acres of rail-ready industrial land. The spur enhances Victory Logistics District’s ability to attract and serve advanced manufacturers, distributors, logistics providers, and other industrial users seeking direct access to both rail and highway transportation networks.

“Today is a full circle moment for Fernley and an important step forward in establishing a transformative industrial development in Northern Nevada,” said Mark IV Capital’s Rick Nelson. “Fernley was founded in 1904 as a Southern Pacific Railroad siding; today’s silver spike ceremony connects the Victory rail spur to the nation’s rail network and offers prospective tenants the vital connectivity needed for their supply chain activity to thrive.”

“From the beginning, we understood the addition of rail access at the Victory Logistics District would be the difference between another mere industrial park and a true industrial campus that would act as a driver of the region’s commerce and economy,” said Mark IV Capital’s Evan Slavik. “With the combination of power, this rail access will attract the leading advanced manufacturers and accompanying higher wage careers that will activate this region and its economy. This is an absolute boon to the community.”

Developed by Mark IV Capital, the 4,300-acre master-planned Victory Logistics District project continues to move forward with its long-term strategy to build an industrial development to support is designed to accommodate a wide range of industries, including distribution, advanced manufacturing, and digital infrastructure projects.
