WEC Lines has announced the enhancement of its ISS Service, now renamed ISS-PT. Effective 10 September, the renewed weekly short sea service strengthens the WEC Lines network by creating a seamless connection between South Spain and Northwest Europe. Through a strategically positioned transshipment hub in Setúbal, Portugal, the service enables efficient import and export flows between South Spain and WEC Lines' extensive Northwest European network.

The service enhancement responds to growing customer demand for reliable short sea transport between South Spain and Northwest Europe. As a specialist in the Iberian market, WEC Lines continues to invest in strengthening its network, creating new opportunities for customers while offering a sustainable alternative to long-distance road transport.

The renewed ISS-PT service connects the Spanish ports of Valencia, Alicante, Cartagena, Almería, Málaga, Gibraltar, Huelva and Cádiz, together with Nador in Morocco, to Setúbal and Sines in Portugal. Via Setúbal, cargo seamlessly connects to WEC Lines services serving Thamesport, Liverpool, Dublin, Montoir, Antwerp, Moerdijk, Rotterdam and Hamburg, providing customers with reliable import and export connections between South Spain and Northwest Europe.

Operated by two dedicated 868-TEU vessels in a 14-day rotation, the ISS-PT service offers customers greater schedule reliability and flexibility. A wide range of equipment is available, including 45ftHCPW and 40 & 45ft reefer containers for frozen and perishable cargo, enabling the service to accommodate a broad variety of commodities.
