Portus stevedores moved seven H1 Unlimited Hydroplane racing boats and eight specialty boat trailers through JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal today.
The boats are returning to the U.S. following the 2014 UIM World Championship in Doha, Qatar. One of the seven boats, the Oberto/Miss Madison Unlimited Hydroplane, won the championship title. Peters and May Racing, a division of global maritime logistics provider Peters & May USA Inc., shipped the boats from Qatar to Jacksonville via a Liberty Global Logistics Ro/Ro ship. “This is probably one of the best ports we’ve worked with,” says Ted Grange, Director of Operations, H1 Unlimited. “The people at JAXPORT are very in tune to what we do. The boats and equipment are very valuable and it just works out well for us.”
