Yale Lift Truck Technologies announces recognition as a finalist in the 2026 BIG Sustainability Awards. Yale emerged as a top contender for batteries and chargers that are purpose-built for Yale lift trucks, providing a unified solution that avoids the compatibility concerns that can arise with third-party power solutions and provide a maintenance-free, zero-emission power option at a competitive price point. The combined lift truck, battery and charger solution helps maximize productivity and offers system-level integration for a consolidated view of battery and truck data.

“Our vision for these combined battery and charger solutions is to remove some of the friction that can come with electric lift trucks. And as warehouses continue to be stretched to their limit, managing complications related to power source integration is the last thing they need,” said Ken Schreiber, Energy Solutions Leader, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. “The BIG Sustainability Awards program recognizes the value of that approach – using our factory resources and the strength of our global dealer network to deliver a comprehensive electrification solution to support the operational success of our customers.”

End-to-end service and warranty support for all Yale batteries, chargers and lift trucks is managed by the Yale dealer network, offering a single point of contact and avoiding service headaches that can come from third-party, piecemeal power solutions. Dealers also help customers assess their lift truck power and infrastructure requirements to create a best-fit solution.

The batteries themselves are engineered with lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) chemistry, offering a longer lifespan compared to other battery chemistries and fast, flexible charging. Multiple size and capacity options allow operations to find the best option for their application and the batteries’ design enables operations to replace or service specific modules, rather than taking an entire battery out of commission.

The chargers can be placed strategically throughout warehouses, including in high-traffic areas, to encourage opportunity charging during breaks or between shifts. Unlike charging lead-acid batteries, warehouses do not need to set aside space for spare battery packs and separate battery storage and charging rooms.

System-level integration of the batteries within Yale lift trucks enables them to communicate with other systems, preventing operation during charging and enabling alerts for low charges or high temperatures. Through the Yale Visionô telemetry platform, warehouse managers can easily access real-time truck and battery data and incorporate that into fleet management decisions.
