Legislation will streamline border clearances and  improve trade for forwarder customers Washington, DC - The Airforwarders Association applauded Congressional action to advance the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015 (H.R. 644) toward enactment by the end of this year. Continued customs modernization is essential to providing U.S. Customs and Border Protection with the necessary resources required to safeguard America's borders while enhancing the flow of commerce in an out of the United States. Outdated customs rules are costing freight shippers millions of dollars a year by preventing them from moving their products in and out of the United States efficiently. This bill will reduce red tape and streamline the clearance process so that forwarders can deliver their goods to market faster.  "Congressional Conferees should be congratulated for completing this important work that will improve border clearance times, allowing our customers to compete more effectively in global markets.", said Brandon Fried, Executive Director of The Airforwarders Association. "We look forward to both Houses of Congress taking immediate action so that this vital legislation can be signed by President Obama immediately."
