GAC Australia extends port coverage

Gulf Agency Company (Australia) Pty. Ltd. has added a 14th port office to its national network, just six months after the company was established. The latest addition, in Darwin, further expands GAC’s coverage of strategic ports around the Australian coast.

The opening of the Darwin office comes as GAC signs an agency deal for Australian and New Zealand ports with Netherlands-based Vroon B.V. and its associated companies. Vroon B.V. is no stranger to Australia as its fleet of vessels makes about 200 calls to the country’s ports every year.

Phil Coolican, GAC Australia’s Managing Director, says: “We are proud to be associated with Vroon and look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship over the years ahead.”

To further strengthen the company’s operational base, additional staff have been hired in Adelaide, Dampier, Fremantle and Port Hedland, to handle the increase in business since GAC Australia opened for business in December last year.

In addition to its head office in Sydney, the GAC Australia’s network of branch offices now includes: Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Dampier, Darwin, Fremantle, Gladstone, Mackay, Melbourne, Newcastle, Port Hedland, Port Kembla, Sydney and Townsville.
