Ship agency supports giant tanker stay in Gdansk Szczecin - Shipping and logistics services provider GAC Poland has bidden farewell to the largest vesselever to call at the Nauta shipyard in Gdynia/Gdansk.  During its three week dry-docking, the 2010-built 156,000 DWT crude oil tanker ‘Advantage Spring’ underwent routine maintenance and had its drive shaft and propeller dismantled, whilst under the care of GAC. The 274.5m long, 48m wide vessel belongs to Genel Denizcilik Nakliyati AS. Established in 1990, GAC Poland works with the ship repair yard to offer specialist ship repairs, conversion and dry-docking solutions for all kinds of vessels to owners, operators and charterers. This alliance between GAC and the Nauta shipyard specializes in complex repairs, modification, modernizations, refurbishments and conversions including vessel lengthening. The fully equipped yard operates four floating docks and a graving dock, and has exclusive access to a 380 x 70m dry dock. "The client was pleased with our specific expertise and the service we provided and entrusted us with another dry docking agency job," says Ryszard Karger, GAC Poland's MD. "Landing the job gave us cause for celebration at a significant time as we mark our 25th anniversary." Group Co-Chairman and Principle Trustee Björn Engblom and Ivo Verheyen, Group Vice President – Europe, joined the GAC Poland team for a commemorative dinner to mark that milestone. The GAC Group, global provider of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services, will celebrate 60 years of business next year.
