WWL adds two 'Pure Car Truck Carriers' to move autos between US, Mexico, Central and South America.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) announced it will begin offering ocean transportation to automakers in its North America / South America trade. Beginning April 28, 2008, WWL will add two 'Pure Car Truck Carriers' (PCTCs) to its existing roll-on, roll-off service between the Americas.

These vessels will provide capacity for 3,000 cars per month.

'Auto manufacturers are selling and producing more and more in the world's emerging markets,' commented Christopher J. Connor, President of WWL Americas. 'By launching this new service, we aim to provide our customers with cost-effective access to the largest auto markets throughout the Americas. Our factory to dealer solution provides our customers with competitive power and agility in these challenging markets.'

The two additional vessels, m/v Tasco and m/v Tagus, will extend WWL's global car-carrying reach to Galveston (USA), Veracruz (Mexico), Manzanillo (Panama), Cartagena (Columbia), Puerto Cabello (Venezuela), Vitoria (Brazil), Rio Grande (Brazil) and Santos (Brazil).

John Felitto, Executive Vice President of WWL Americas, expects that the company's worldwide reputation for cargo integrity will also add value to carmakers seeking to move cars into and out of the Americas. 'Our reputation is built upon our zero-tolerance policy against cargo damage,' noted Mr. Felitto. 'In today's economy, cost-effective means more than good rates car makers need lower overall delivery costs. Our zero tolerance policy is driven by our company values and also recognition of the savings that our customers achieve when cargo arrives as and when expected.'

WWL will also continue to offer ocean transportation services to makers of construction and agricultural equipment, buses, trucks and non-container cargo such as boats and project cargo.
