“Back in March when the Port Authority announced their intention to be first in line with a request for expediting federal review of the Bayonne Bridge Navigational Clearance project New York Shipping lauded this initiative because the project is so critical to the future of this port and to our members. In making this unprecedented effort and now receiving approval for the expedited review, the Port Authority has hit a grand slam homerun! On behalf of the members of New York Shipping Association I extend our most sincere appreciation to the Port Authority leadership, to the Congressional delegation for supporting this request and also to President Obama who approved the enhanced permitting and review of this project of national and regional economic significance,” said Joseph C. Curto, President of New York Shipping Association.

“The Port Authority has laid out an aggressive timeframe for the completion of the project and have assembled a world class team to accomplish it,” Curto concluded.
