The Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority will consider $700,000 for wharf and rubber-tired gantry (RTG) crane parts and repair and $300,000 to increase Storage Area Network serving Bayport and Barbours Cut container terminals.

The Port Commissioners are considering awarding a two-year contract to Bubenzer Bremsen America, LLC dba Pintsch Bubenzer USA for up to $450,000 to purchase replacement Bubenzer brake parts for wharf and rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes at Barbours Cut and Bayport terminals.

The Port Authority currently owns 19 wharf and 63 RTG cranes at both facilities that are equipped with Bubenzer brakes for various crane functions, such as gantry, trolley, main and boom hoist. The ability to quickly obtain space and replacement brake parts for these cranes is critical to terminal operations.

The Port Commissioners will also consider awarding a $262,500 contract to Crane Systems, Inc. for the repair of trolley rails on six ZPMC wharf cranes at Bayport Container Terminal. Gantrex rubber pads on six ZPMC wharf cranes currently operating at Bayport need to be removed and replaced to ensure continued efficient operations of the cranes.
