WARRINGTON, Pa., Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/—Fuel management was the talk of the town in Orlando, FL at the American Truck Association’s (ATA) annual conference and Sokolis Group Fuel Management had plenty to show. Howard Abrams, EVP/CFO for Sokolis Group Fuel Management said, “We had about 125 people visit our booth. These potential clients, including CEOs, Directors and Fleet Managers, were very interested in learning how they could spend less for diesel fuel and take advantage of fleet fuel card programs.” Over 1,500 people attended the conference looking for ways to improve their fleet management. Whether it was trucks, tires, technology or fuel management, they were there to learn. Conor Proud, Sales Executive said, “I couldn’t believe how many visitors we met in a 2 hour period. I’ve been to many other conferences, and this one was really enjoyable. Now I have my work cut out for me to follow up with so many people interested in diesel fuel management.” The President and CEO of the ATA, Bill Graves, gave a great talk about the future direction of the trucking industry. There were also educational sessions on driver shortages, along with safety and tax policies. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush also spoke about the government’s role within the trucking industry. With truck stops like TA/Petro, and fleet fuel card companies like Comdata, along with many software companies, this conference had it all. Glen Sokolis, President of Sokolis Group Fuel Management said, “It was a great show. People didn’t just stop by and pick up giveaways, they wanted to learn, especially, how we:
  • Negotiate diesel fuel deals
  • Validate fueling transactions for bulk, mobile and truck stops
  • Reconcile all purchases
  • Audit every transaction and obtain credits if the pricing is wrong
Next year’s ATA Conference will be held in San Diego, October 4-7th, 2014. Sokolis Group Fuel Management is already looking forward to attending and we look forward to seeing you there!
