The arrival of three new 270 foot-tall Super Post-Panamax cranes to Port Houston’s Bayport Container Terminal today highlights $100 million in investments there. These three neo-panamax ship-to-shore (STS) cranes are the first of two crane shipments Port Houston is to receive this week.

XLProjects member, Trans-Trading recently oversaw the movement of the new fleet of locomotives for the Finnish State Railways (VR). On behalf of Trans-Trading Hamburg, the Lübeck Port Company (LHG) had recently refitted three Vectron locomotives, each one weighing 90 tons and measuring 19m x 3m x 4.4m. In total, eleven of those heavyweights will be shipped by rail and sea to Finland in 2018.

North Carolina Ports moved a record number of containers through the Port of Wilmington during the 2018 fiscal year, which ended June 30. Wilmington recorded 38 percent year-over-year container growth and year-over-year general cargo growth is up 18 percent.
