Port of Oakland officials today promised a digital shipping platform by mid-year to speed up global trade flows. The Port said it’s building an online portal for transactions that range from tracking to transporting containerized cargo. March 5th, the Port of Everett welcomed the first oversized containers carrying parts for the new 777X. Instead of offloading at Pacific Terminal, the Port's primary container facility, the 777X parts were offloaded at Pier 1 using a mobile harbor crane rated to handle the heavier, larger aerospace containers now arriving in Everett.

Port of Corpus Christi CEO Sean Strawbridge testified today before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s Subcommittee on the Interior, Energy and Environment in a hearing titled, “Examining the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).” Mr. Strawbridge advocated for necessary funding and proposed ways for the USACE to improve delivery of crucial infrastructure projects such as the Corpus Christi Ship Channel Improvement Project (CIP).
