Cold Chain Technologies (CCT) has announced the launch of the EcoFlex Dry Ice shipper, featuring patented new technology which raises the standard of protection for dry ice packaging.
The launch builds on the continued expansion of the EcoFlex family, which has become one of the industry's largest reusable thermal packaging fleets. The new dry ice configuration complements CCT's broader range of reusable temperature-controlled shipping solutions while maintaining compatibility with the company's ReNew refurbishment and renew programme.
Supported by a series of further innovations, the reusable EcoFlex Dry Ice shipper has been developed specifically to improve operational efficiency and product protection for dry ice applications commonly used in clinical trials, cell and gene therapies, and other ultra-low temperature pharmaceutical shipments.
Featuring an angled payload box supported within an internal scaffold structure, dry ice is packed around the sides of the Ecoflex Dry Ice shipper and within a dedicated top tray. This configuration simplifies pack-out procedures while also enabling easier replenishment of dry ice during transit interventions, without requiring operators to remove the payload box.
In order to support tracking and monitoring, the shipper features integrated accommodation for up to two data loggers, allowing temperature probes to be routed directly into the payload chamber for accurate reporting of product temperatures throughout transit. This capability allows for complete assurance via the company’s advanced digital analytics platform MedAssure, supported by the real-time monitoring and intervention service provided by CCT C.A.R.E.

A further innovation is a removable placard system that enables dry ice hazard labels to be removed easily once shipments have been received and returned empty. This helps customers avoid unnecessary hazardous goods return charges that can occur when dry ice labels remain attached to packaging after all dry ice has sublimated.

The EcoFlex Dry Ice Shipper is available now in small, medium, large and extra-large configurations.
