2019 Event Theme: Intelligent Mobility: Safer, Greener & Smarter

WASHINGTON – Continental North America President Jeff Klei and Amazon.com Vice President for Global Innovation Policy and Communications Paul Misener will offer keynote remarks at the Intelligent Transportation Society of America’s (ITS America) 28th Annual Meeting and Expo here in June.

Intelligent Mobility: Safer, Greener, Smarter will focus on the future of mobility technologies and highlight seamless mobility around the movement of people, data and freight in the 21st century.

President of Continental North America since 2008, Klei is responsible for customer, governmental and other external relationships in the region. He also retains his current responsibilities as Vice President of Sales, General Motors Worldwide. Klei will speak on Wednesday, June 5th.

A 19-year Amazon veteran, Misener founded Amazon’s public policy operations and currently advocates on behalf of the company’s culture, innovation and leadership. He is an engineer and attorney. Misener will speak on Thursday, June 6th.

Each keynote will be immediately followed by panel discussions related to the day’s theme. “Safer, Greener, Smarter” is slated for Wednesday, June 5th and panelists include:

  • Sherif Marakby, President and CEO, Ford Autonomous Vehicles LLC
  • Angel Mendez, Chief Operating Officer, HERE Technologies

The discussion on Thursday, June 6th will focus on “Moving People, Data and Freight.” Panelists include:

  • Joe Bergera, President and CEO, Iteris
  • Therese McMillan, Executive Director, Metropolitan Transportation Commission
  • Dr. Josh Switkes, Founder and CEO, Peloton

Additional speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. The ITS America Annual Meeting will be held June 4-7 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
