Light Shipping Lines (LSL) becomes the FPS member for Morocco. LSL is a multi-modal forwarder, active in ocean freight, airfreight and road transport. The company operates consolidations, and handles FCL and projects. LSL is headquartered at Casablanca Port, and also has a Customs office at the airport, and representative offices in Tangier, Fez (a sister company that provides handling), Agadir, and Marrakech. The Morocco market is undergoing strong growth that is attracting foreign investment and fuelling local consumption. In Singapore, FPS has appointed FP Shipping as network member, to strengthen the Group’s presence and improve its transshipment capability across the network. FP Shipping’s main business is currently ocean consolidation, but it intends to exploit its location within such an important logistics epicentre to develop airfreight, and sea-air business opportunities. Singapore is one of the world’s logistics hot-spots. Its economy has been growing strongly in recent quarters, and the government has been very supportive of its logistics sector, which it sees as an essential contributor. Singapore is the world’s second busiest port in terms of tonnage, and the busiest for transhipment. Its airport was ranked twelfth in the world for cargo in 2013.
