It is with great sorrow to everyone at FTR that we announce the passing away earlier this month of Ed Graham, FTR's founder, and a legendary mind with an indomitable spirit. His keen wit and intellect remained sharp, and while having officially retired from FTR several years prior, Ed remained an active participant. He was especially active in his beloved role as 'devil's advocate' during discussions with the group's transportation experts.
It was Ed Graham's passion for understanding and explaining the economy that lead him to create a comprehensive model of the total transportation industry. Ed's groundbreaking work still stands as the core basis for FTR's Freight•cast™ model that to this day provides insight into the transportation markets. Having retired early from Cummins Inc., Ed immediately began consulting to help guide business decisions for the trucking engine supplier. Ed was a founding partner in ACT Publications in 1986 and later partnered with Mike Tryon, Eric Starks, FTR's current chairman and CEO, and Ed's son, Steve Graham.
