La Cañada Flintridge Calif. - On December 6, Allen Lund Company had the honor of hosting two representatives from Guide Dogs of America. The visit was brought on by an Act of Kindness completed by ALC. The IT and TMS departments at Allen Lund Company supported Braille Institute and Guide Dogs of America by putting together a fundraiser offering the purchase of casual dress passes to the employees at headquarters. In the month of July and August, ALC successfully raised a total of $2,300 dollars! Proceeds were split between both organizations. Representatives Gwen Whitson and Lexie Dreyfuss were kind enough to bring two puppies in training  (Serenity and Jenny)  to ALC headquarters for a meet and greet with the employees. Following the introduction, a brief presentation was given detailing the training process and the great work that is done by Guide Dogs of America. "Guide Dogs of America is a great local organization that pairs blind people with service dogs all free of charge. We were very excited to have them over to the corporate office to receive their donation from the Allen Lund Company and present them with a plaque of appreciation," said Keith Curtis, Manager of EDI and Integrations. "They do generous work in the community and we wanted to make sure they had a chance to share with the company a little bit about themselves." The Allen Lund Company recognizes the importance of supporting good causes and takes pride in giving back to local communities. ALC will continue to encourage employees to take part in Acts of Kindness well into the new year.
