LJM Group announced that Rob Gelb has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Gelb brings three decades of experience building and scaling tech-enabled services businesses, much of it on the buyer's side of complex, opaque pricing—first in workers' compensation, then in group health, and now in parcel shipping. That experience aligns with LJM's shipper-focused model and its mission to bring clients clarity, confidence, and control over logistics costs.
"I am honored to join LJM at such a pivotal moment," said Gelb. "Over more than 20 years, this team has built a differentiated platform with a proven record of measurable results for shippers. I look forward to working with Ken, Kevin, Thomas, Kenneth, and the broader team to scale our technology, deepen client partnerships, and lead LJM into its next chapter."
"Rob's track record of scaling tech-enabled services businesses and bringing transparency to opaque costs makes him the ideal leader for LJM's next phase of growth," said Wood. "The parcel shipping landscape continues to evolve rapidly, creating both challenges and opportunities for our clients. With Rob at the helm, we are well positioned to keep investing in our people, technology, and services while staying focused on the results that matter most to those we serve."
Prior to joining LJM, Gelb spent more than seven years as CEO of Valenz Health, where he transformed a single point-solution provider into an integrated healthcare platform spanning cost containment, payment integrity, and self-funded employer solutions. Under his leadership, Valenz completed eight acquisitions, grew from 62 to 520 employees, and achieved approximately 30% compound annual growth, including more than 15% organic growth. The company was named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in six of his seven years. Earlier in his career, he led strategy and growth at Coventry Workers' Compensation Services and held senior leadership roles at York Risk Services Group, Intracorp, and Medlogix. Gelb is a Forbes Finance Council contributor and podcast host who writes and speaks on leadership, culture, and cost transparency. He holds a B.B.A. in Public Accounting from Hofstra University and is a CPA (inactive).
