One survivor rescued off the Bay of Biscay in Atlantic Ocean TOKYO—Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced that the MOL- operated methanol carrier, the BUCCOO REEF, safely rescued a yachtsman off the Bay of Biscay in the Atlantic Ocean (about 370km northwest of the Spanish west coast) on August 2, 2017. Details of the rescue are as follows: 
  • At 21:46 on August 1 (in local time), the BUCCOO REEF received a distress relay message from the United Kingdom Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centres, while underway toward the port of Point Lisas in Trinidad and Tobago, and rushed to the scene.
  • At 02:50 on August 2, one survivor was safely rescued.
