In late February of this year, the maritime industry lost one of its iconic leaders and characters, Conrad H. C. Everhard , or “Connie” as he was known to his many friends.

Conrad had a long and distinguished maritime career, first with United States Lines and then with the Massachusetts Port Authority. He later became CEO of Dart Container Line and OOCL (USA). He also served as a founder of American Hawaii Cruises and Chairman of Cho Yang Line (USA), retiring in 1998. An adamant defender of the U.S, Merchant Marine, he was a much sought-after speaker on maritime subjects. Conrad’s many friends and colleagues will meet for lunch to remember and celebrate his leadership and humor.
