The North American Rail Shippers Association (NARS) will host its annual meeting November 11–13, 2026, in its new location: Washington, DC. The theme for the meeting will be “Navigating Change and Driving Growth.”

“Bringing shippers, railroads and industry leaders together in Washington, DC creates an important opportunity to share perspectives, strengthen relationships, and address the issues shaping the future of freight transportation. NARS provides a forum for meaningful dialogue and collaboration that can help advance a more efficient and resilient freight network,” said NARS President Ray Hufnagel.

This year’s meeting will feature high-level executives from large railroads, major shippers, and industry experts. In recognition of Veterans Day, we are honored to welcome Dave “Mongo” Koss, a 1991 U.S. Naval Academy graduate and highly decorated naval aviator who commanded Strike Fighter Squadron Fourteen, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and Strike Fighter Wing Pacific. We will also welcome several trade association executives.

NARS will also be presenting its 2026 scholarships to college students based on their academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service. Scholarship candidates typically represent a blend of traditional undergraduate students as well as some working on advanced degrees in fields associated with the transportation industry.
