Ontic has announced the launch of CargoCare, a new family of Ontic MRO services designed to help cargo operators keep their aircraft flying and their maintenance costs under control.
The first offering in the CargoCare portfolio is an Exchange & Overhaul program for Boeing 747 leading edge flap drive units, a component operators have found difficult to turn around quickly when an unexpected removal occurs.
Each CargoCare package is tailored to the operator's fleet and requirements. Customers can choose between a dedicated or shared exchange pool, giving them the option of coverage without needing to carry unnecessary spare inventory. The program also offers flat-rate overhaul for predictable costs, an extended warranty, flexible commercial terms, and responsive support from Ontic hubs across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Dave Mayne, MRO Director for Europe & Asia at Ontic, said: "Cargo operators can't afford to have aircraft sitting on the ground waiting for a part to come back from overhaul. CargoCare takes that uncertainty away.
“Operators get a serviceable unit quickly, at a cost they can plan around, and a package built on how their fleet operates. It's a clear example of how our dedicated MRO capability allows us to go beyond repair and create programs that deliver real value to our customers for a lifetime of flight."
The 747 leading edge flap drive program is the first of several planned CargoCare offerings. Ontic intends to extend the model to further platforms and parts as it continues to grow and invest in its MRO portfolio.
