Lima, PA – Pilot Freight Services (Pilot), a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, announces the promotion of Zach Pollock to executive vice president, corporate stations. In his new role, Pollock will be responsible for the operations, sales and administrative teams on international and domestic levels at 28 of Pilot’s company owned-stations throughout North America and will report directly to CEO, Gordon Branov. Since joining Pilot in 2005 as a district manager with a background in international sales and operations, Pollock climbed the ranks to his current position by significantly growing sales, increasing station efficiencies, and cultivating and recruiting operations teams in his region. He developed a variety of tools to handle the company’s large-scale customer distributions and retail rollouts which enabled project management and client quote automation at quicker and more effective levels. Pollock’s earliest success was leading sales and operations efforts in Detroit, making it one of Pilot’s largest and most productive stations, jumping from $200,000 in sales to $1 million, consistently. As a regional vice president, he partnered with the corporate IT department to develop on-the-ground systems to streamline warehousing and transportation operations and increase transparency to customers and managed some of Pilot’s largest local e-commerce customers. Deeply involved in selling and servicing the distribution and retail rollout business for a number of customers, he has operational experience and knowledge for a unique and diverse array of products inclusive of endcap merchandise, perishables, time-sensitive-released products and video kiosks. Pollock successfully spearheaded a unique sales opportunity and coordination of 615 shipments of live roses from seven different stations days before Valentine’s Day for a high-profile, in-store promotion between a national cosmetics brand and national floral delivery company. Working closely with station managers, customer support and operations teams, Pollock was able to fulfill a challenging customer request that required creative packaging and delivery systems with real-time updates to both the customer and delivery destination. “Zach’s hands-on approach and enthusiasm combined with his technical expertise will significantly contribute to Pilot’s long-term growth strategy,” said Gordon Branov, CEO of Pilot Freight Services. “Over the past 12 years, Zach has mentored numerous stations based on his successful track record and shown a passion and dedication that is emblematic of our most successful team members, making Pilot a truly unique company that empowers employees and celebrates achievement.”
