Pollock most recently served as executive vice president, corporate stations where he honed his operational strengths. As EVP, he was responsible for the operations, sales and administrative teams at 28 of Pilot’s stations. In his new position as COO, Pollock will manage a senior level team of direct reports including executive and regional VPs of domestic and Canadian operations, transportation and business development. He will continue to report directly to Pilot CEO, Gordon Branov.

Since joining Pilot in 2005 as a district manager with a background in international sales and operations, Pollock climbed the ranks by significantly growing sales, increasing station efficiencies and cultivating and recruiting operations teams in his region. He transformed Pilot’s Detroit and Chicago stations into outstanding performers, making Detroit one of the largest and most productive stations, jumping from $200,000 in sales to $1 million consistently. As regional vice president, he moved the entire Chicago station to a new, state-of-the-art, 186,000-square-foot facility to accommodate the growing operations. In addition, he assembled and mentored a team that dramatically grew Pilot Chicago’s e-commerce and retail services results, while simultaneously developing system tools for these specific products to benefit the entire Pilot network. Having this valuable management experience and resulting successes propelled Pollock to executive vice president of corporate stations spanning the entire country. This combination of roles throughout Pilot gives Pollock the perspective to think strategically from all points of Pilot’s operations while keeping in mind long-term, company-wide goals.

“Zach’s drive and strong work ethic is obvious to anyone that has ever worked with him,” said Gordon Branov, CEO of Pilot Freight Services. “His dedication, loyalty and passion for Pilot embody the qualities of our most successful team members. Throughout his career, Zach has stayed focused on Pilot’s long-term success while building operations that are sales-oriented and customer-focused in order to offer the best-in-class services that Pilot is known for, making him the perfect fit for this position.”
