The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has been in touch the Port of Baltimore and is ready to support them with any assistance needed. As challenging as this terrible situation is, it is also a shining example of how resilient and resourceful our industry is.

Arrangements have been made for a large percentage of the Baltimore-bound containerized and roll-on roll-off cargo currently on the water to be handled at other East Coast ports, including the Port of New York and New Jersey. Decisions on the remaining cargo on the water will be made in the next day or two. For cargo that is yet to be loaded onboard a ship, most ocean carriers are providing options to route Baltimore cargo through any other port in their network.

The Port of New York and New Jersey has the capacity to handle all Baltimore cargo temporarily diverted to it.
