R2:2013 certification reaffirms commitment to environmental and social responsibility

SAN FRANCISCO, California — Re-Teck, a subsidiary of the Li-Tong Group (LTG) and the global provider of reverse supply chain management (RSCM) solutions, announced today that Re-Teck Brazil was awarded the latest Responsible Recycling Practices Standard (R2) Certification, R2:2013.

The R2 Standard is the electronic recycling industry’s leading certification and the premier global standard leading the way in helping electronics recyclers implement safer and more sustainable strategies for managing used electronics. With 700 R2 certified facilities operating in 30 countries, the standard is designed to help ensure the quality, transparency and environmental and social responsibility of electronics recycling facilities around the world.

“Re-Teck adheres to the leading global standards and regulations as a commitment to being secure and sustainable,” said Linda Li, Chief Strategy Officer of Re-Teck. “The R2 certification reaffirms our shift toward a circular economy by allowing us to align with industry standards and focus heavily on the sustainable management and reuse of resources within our facilities.”

By emphasizing resource management over resource recycling, the R2 Standard helps companies extend the life cycle and reduce the environmental impact of electronic devices. Reusing components is fundamental to a circular economy and provides not only environmental but also social benefits.

Each year, Re-Teck is verified by auditors and certified by various international standards, including OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and e-Stewards Standards.
