Seafrigo Group is delighted to announce that Pramodhya (Pramo) Loku Gamage has won the Rising Star of the Year title at the annual FPC Fresh Produce Awards. Pramo received the prestigious award at a glittering ceremony at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, where he was joined by 30 colleagues and customers from across the PML Seafrigo business, including representatives from management, sales, HR, finance, warehouse and packing, and freight forwarding.
The award recognizes Pramo’s rapid career progression, leadership potential and significant contribution to Seafrigo’s finance function since joining the company 20 months ago. He joined PML Seafrigo as an Accounts Assistant and has since progressed to Accounts Payable Supervisor, where he manages a team of three. His responsibilities include invoice processing, supplier management and reconciliations, alongside supporting wider improvements within the finance department.
His achievements extend beyond his own professional development. Pramo has played an important role in supporting the Seafrigo Ireland accounts, providing a diligent and accurate service in a demanding operational environment. He is also actively involved in staff training, sharing his knowledge with colleagues and helping newer members of the team develop confidence in their roles.
Pramo is recognized by colleagues for his hands-on approach, attention to detail and willingness to step forward when challenges arise. He continually looks for opportunities to improve and automate processes within the finance department, helping to increase efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
The FPC Fresh Produce Awards judges described Pramo as someone who is “making a meaningful difference in the workplace while showing the qualities of a future leader.”
Commenting on the award, Pramo said: “I’m incredibly proud to receive this award. The last 20 months at PML Seafrigo have been an amazing journey for me, and I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given and the support and encouragement of the people around me. To have my colleagues there cheering me on made the evening even more special. I’m excited to keep learning, developing and contributing to the team.”
Pramo’s ambitions remain focused on continuing to develop his career within Seafrigo, expanding his knowledge across the finance function and growing alongside his team.
