New Deal Will Add Frac Sand and Intermodal Chassis Manufacturing to Dragon Products Existing Oil and Gas Equipment Portfolio, Expand Trailer Chassis Options and Extend Flexible Financing Options to National Chassis Customers. 

February 26, 2018 – The Modern Group (together with its affiliated companies, “Dragon Products Group“), a leading manufacturer of mission critical products serving the energy and industrial industries, has recently completed the acquisition of the assets of National Chassis from independent Tank Service Inc., La Porte, Texas. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition will extend National Chassis’ product portfolio in the frac sand hauling and intermodal container chassis markets and offer highly competitive financing and special terms on lease purchase agreements. 

The Modern Group is currently developing a tract of land on Hwy 146 in La Porte adjacent to Barbours Cut Boulevard, which will serve as National Chassis’ operations and inventory hub. This strategic location near the Port of Houston will also service the plastic resin export market, and offer specialized trailer chassis solutions for newly passed Texas Heavy Haul legislation.
