Turkish Cargo’s cold chain logistics are prepared specifically in order to protect the contents and prevent them from deterioration. At Turkish Cargo, all transportation of medical supplies are executed in accordance with IATA regulations. They offer their customers various services including temperature-controlled active and passive systems. With their active cooling system containers, they can have cold-chain transportation in airplanes, including loading and unloading areas.
To prevent their cargoes from being exposed to often changing temperatures during flights, Turkish Air Cargo uses Envirotainer active temperature-controlled containers. In containers, which contain highly sensitive cargoes such as medical supplies, vaccine, insülin and cancer drugs, they manage to maintain the desired temperatures even during long-distance flights. With their data entry log, they also report to their customers about the changes in temperature of their shipments during the whole transportation process. Thanks to the agreements they have made with international container suppliers, they can realize shipments between -20°C and +25°C at the demanded circumstance and capacity. Active container demands of Turkish Cargo customers are assessed by their expert teams. On request, the containers are installed with a temperature setting by their certified experts and delivered to clients ready to be loaded to the plane. After the acceptance of the container, it is carried into the active container storage area at the Turkish Cargo facility. The temperature and battery charge is monitored in designated periods according to instructions given in Active Container Regulations. The temperature and battery charge of the container is constantly monitored until its delivery to the recipient.
Turkish Cargo continues to provide technology-driven logistics solutions to individual customers and major corporations. They work to make Istanbul one of the biggest players in the air cargo trade between East and West, benefitting from its strategic location at the center of world trade routes.
