His responsibilities include ensuring smooth, effective cargo operations while always maintaining safety and security compliance. Through close collaboration with colleagues and service partners, Sabir and his team will identify areas for improvement in day-to-day operations, leading to even greater operational performance. “It’s not just about efficiency; it’s about translating commercial needs into operational excellence while upholding the highest standards of safety and security, and ensuring continued successful partnerships with our service providers,” Sabir explained.
“My primary goal for the first few months was to truly immerse myself in the operational rhythm, connect with internal stakeholders and engage closely with our service partners who are crucial to WestJet Cargo's success,” Sabir outlined. “I spent time listening to understand their challenges and successes. It has been an incredible journey so far, and I am particularly thankful to my highly knowledgeable team for the seamless transition into my new role.”
