Peru's biggest logistics company, Ransa, will expand into Colombia next year as part of its aggressive strategy to operate all along the southern Pacific from Guatemala to Chile, the company said.

Chief Executive Officer Emilio Fantozzi told Reuters that Ransa will probably set up in Chile and Central America in 2014, and is now looking for a company in Colombia to buy or associate with in 2013.

"We're in talks (with a Colombian company) and will go there next year," Fantozzi said. "We're following the growth of our clients."

Ransa provides services to mining, energy, industrial and retail sectors. Fantozzi said he expects the company to post sales worth $295 million this year, 18 percent more than in 2011.

Ransa, the main logistics operator of the Peruvian financial holding company the Romero Group and one of the biggest in Latin America, already operates in Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

Ransa has been looking for a strategic partner to accelerate its regional expansion since the beginning of the year, but hasn't reached any deals yet. (Reuters)
