Viking Line continues service on the main freight routes

Despite the current situation and concerns about the corona virus, Viking Line continues service on its most important routes. Taking the security of supply for Finland and Åland as well as the cargo transport demands into consideration, we continue freight traffic between Helsinki and Tallinn as well as on the Turku–Åland–Stockholm route. Viking Line follows the instructions of the Finnish and Estonian authorities under the state of emergency prevailing in Finland with restrictions on cross-border traffic. “To safeguard the security of supply between Finland and Sweden, we are maintaining service on part of our routes. We are grateful for the understanding our cargo customers have shown us in this exceptional situation. We hope that the situation will normalize as soon as possible,” says Harri Tamminen, Freight Director of Viking Line. Turku–Långnäs–Stockholm traffic until 13 April Service on the Turku–Åland–Stockholm route will continue as before. A minor change is made to the route of M/S Viking Grace and M/S Amorella as of 21 March. The daytime stopover in Åland will be take place in Långnäs instead of Mariehamn. The ships will sail according to the following timetable. All times are local. Helsinki–Tallinn 17–31 March 2020 Traffic between Helsinki and Tallinn will continue with fewer departures in accordance with the following timetable. Five out of the seven ships in Viking Line’s fleet operate under the Finnish flag. Two of them are in traffic for the time being. As the largest maritime employer in Finland, we take the security of supply in our country carefully into consideration and are prepared to provide freight services with additional Finnish ships, if necessary.
