Missouri Eastern Railroad (MER), a wholly owned subsidiary of Jaguar Transport Holdings (Jaguar), began rail operations on March 1, 2022. In January 2022, MER acquired approximately 42 miles of track located in the western portion of the St. Louis metropolitan area. In February 2022, it acquired leasehold rights to approximately 9 miles of adjacent track owned by Union Pacific. MER's operations run from just west of Union, Missouri to Overland, Missouri where it interchanges with the Terminal Railroad of St. Louis.

Mace, Comtech and SYSTRA, working as the MCS consortium, have announced it has been awarded the contract of Program Delivery Partner to support Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program. MCS will establish a program level management regime to integrate all aspects of the GO Expansion program through the development, implementation and continuous improvement of program-wide systems, processes and procedures in order to support ‘Best for Program’ decision making, subject to Metrolinx’s governance, policies and procedures.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a one-year agreement with Norwegian rail operator CargoNet covering the field-testing of a Kalmar Electric Reachstacker. Following the conclusion of the agreement, CargoNet has the option to continue with regular commercial operation of the machine. The agreement was signed in January 2022 and the machine will be delivered to CargoNet in Q1 of 2023.
