DAT: Spot truckload rates crest after several weeks of gains

Three weeks after winter storms upended supply chains across the country, truckload freight shipments settled into more normal patterns during the week ending March 14, said DAT Freight & Analytics, which operates the industry’s largest load board network. The number of loads posted to the DAT network fell 11.4% and the number of trucks increased 9.2% compared to the previous week.

Milestone Equipment Holdings, a national leader in transportation equipment leasing solutions, announced the addition of Phil Shook as Executive Vice President - Domestic Intermodal, effective immediately. In this role, Shook will lead the expansion of Milestone's Domestic Intermodal segment and oversee other enterprise-wide marketing and customer support functions. Shook will report directly to Don Clayton, President and Chief Executive Officer. Based in the Lombard, IL corporate office, Shook will partner closely with Executive Vice President Doug Hoehn, who will continue to lead Milestone's rapidly growing Marine Chassis segment.

IMT and VTG partner to boost connectivity in rail freight

Intermodal Telematics BV (IMT) and VTG AG have agreed on a long-term partnership to extend the digitisation of VTG’s rail wagon fleet. The first step in this new arrangement will be the delivery of 15,000 of IMT’s CLT20-Ex main GPS units over the next 15 months, with the potential to substantially expand that number over the coming years. The solar powered CLT20-Ex enables unlimited wireless data transfer allowing for optimal accuracy, which is an ideal match for the high requirements in quality and safety that VTG sets in the field of telematics and information provision for its customers.
