Refinery parts from Greece to Egypt

The Cosmatos Shipping Services SA, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Greece, recently arranged the port operations of loose o/g refinery equipment. The cargo originated from Thessaloniki, Greece and was destined to Port Said, Egypt. The project shipment consisted of 6 columns and 86 loose parts witha  total volume of 1500 cbm.

The large Column had dimensions of  27.00 x 2.50 m x 2.50 m, and a weight each of 20 tons.

The Cosmatos Project Cargo Team provided logistics information, stowage and lashing solutions.

Road transport from Greece to Albania

The Cosmatos Project Experts team arranged for the transport of a self-driving machine from Piraeus port, Greece, to Tirana, Albania.

The Machine had dimensions of  17.5 x 2.93 x 3.66 m and a weight of 50 tons.

Cosmatos took care of road permits, haulage, transit customs formalities GR/AL including deposit of bank guarantee (T1), proper coordination between all parties and authorities of the two countries, as well as the timely delivery during winter weather conditions.

Windmills in Northern Greece

Cosmatos Group recently completed the offloading, reception at port storage area, backloading and transportation to the site of 4 sets of windmills with blades 65 meters long via Thessaloniki port.

Apart from the above services, Cosmatos Group arranged:

Daily toolbox meetings, preparation of cargo safety zones, use of own safety equipment to avoid damages to the cargo, dismantling of lugs and tower feet, cleaning of towers & blades and issuance of road permits

All transports were arranged during heavy winter conditions with snow and temperatures below zero.

The site was located in Northern Greece, 1650 meters above sea level with slops at internal site roads up to 16%.

A quite challenging operation scheme which was performed and concluded despite the difficult conditions.
