IFCO, a leading provider of reusable packaging solutions, announced the launch of Atlas, the reusable, next-generation hybrid pallet engineered to meet the evolving demands of modern North American supply chains.
As supply chains become increasingly automated, every pallet needs to perform with greater precision and consistency. At the same time, businesses are placing greater emphasis on operational efficiency, facility safety, product protection, and the total cost of managing pallet programs.

Raising the pallet standard
Proudly made in the USA, the IFCO reusable next-generation hybrid pallet incorporates a patented design, combining a hollow-steel deck with a durable HDPE frame to provide the strength, consistency, and reliability required across production, warehousing, automation, transportation, and retail.
Suitable for food and non-food products, Atlas has been developed for retailers, suppliers, FMCG manufacturers, automated facilities, and other businesses looking for a durable alternative to traditional wood pallets.
“Atlas responds to the realities our customers face today: more automation, greater scrutiny around fire performance, and growing pressure to manage supply chains more efficiently. By combining a strong, consistent next-generation hybrid pallet with digital capabilities and IFCO’s pooling expertise, we are offering businesses a smarter way to manage a critical part of their operations., Mike Pooley, Chief Executive Officer of IFCO
Built for the demands of the modern supply chain
The IFCO reusable steel pallet brings together strength, safety, digital visibility, and managed pooling in one solution.
Key benefits include:
• Built for automation
Closed runners, robust construction, and precise 48x40-inch dimensions support stable movement through automated systems. With no nails or wood splinters to create debris or interfere with sensors and rollers, Atlas helps keep operations running smoothly.
• Consistent pallet weight
At just 58 pounds, Atlas offers a comparable weight to other pallets, without the moisture absorption that can cause wooden pallets to gain weight over time.
The hollow steel deck delivers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Anti-slip features, rounded corners, and four-way forklift access support stable loads and efficient handling.
• Designed with safety in mind
Fire-retardant materials come as standard and have been tested to UL 2335, with certification pending. Atlas is also non-absorbent, resistant to water and mold, and free from nails, sharp edges, and splinters.
• Enabled with track-and-trace technology
IFCO Digital solutions provides cold-chain monitoring, pallet location and inventory information, while supporting automated processes and declarations across the supply chain. Automated tracking and reporting supports retailers and suppliers to reduce their administrative burden.
• Pooled for repeated use
Through the IFCO Pallet SmartCycle, businesses gain reliable access to high-quality pallets without purchasing and managing their own fleets. Replaceable components extend each pallet’s life, while its steel and HDPE materials can be recycled at the end of its useful service life.
Carrying North American supply chains forward
North American supply chains have evolved. The IFCO next-generation hybrid pallet gives businesses a stronger, smarter, and simpler way to move goods, whether across automated facilities, domestic distribution networks, or international borders.
With Atlas and the IFCO Pallet SmartCycle, businesses gain a robust, automation-ready, fire-retardant, and digitally enabled pallet without the cost and complexity ofowning and managing their own assets.
