Load tracking software donates services to track trucks carrying remembrance wreaths to veteran’s cemeteries at over 1,100 locations nationwide CLEVELAND, OH - MacroPoint, creator of patented freight tracking software designed to give shippers, brokers, 3PLs and carriers real-time visibility into load status, today announced it is tracking the Wreaths Across America (WAA) convoy that is delivering over 1.2 million remembrance wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery and over 1,200 additional locations for National Wreaths Across America Day ceremonies on December 17. This year, MacroPoint has made it possible for the WAA dispatch operation to efficiently follow the progression of the 350 trucks traveling to locations across the country. MacroPoint is also tracking the convoy to Arlington National Cemetery on a dedicated WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA TRACKING PAGE, which features a map that is updated every hour with the location of the trucks. “Delivering over 1.2 million wreaths is a massive undertaking that couldn't be done without the trucking industry,” said Glynn Spangenberg, senior vice president/general manager of MacroPoint. “The logistics, trucks and fuel, as well as the driver's time, is all donated by trucking companies. Likewise, MacroPoint is donating its software with third party visibility capabilities so everyone can follow this incredible six-day journey. Wreaths Across America is a great cause and supporting it with our technology is a great way to offer the industry and the public the opportunity to follow the convoy.” For the annual Wreaths Across America program, MacroPoint works closely with Truckload of Respect, an outreach project conducted and managed by the Truckload Carriers Association to ensure that every remembrance wreath donated for placement on a veteran's grave as part of the Wreaths Across America project is delivered to its destination without cost to the charity or the cemetery. TCA works through its member companies and the trucking industry to secure volunteer commitments to haul every load of wreaths, and also coordinates logistics for Wreaths Across America. Wreaths Across America, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed in 2007 as an extension of The Arlington Wreath Project, carries on a tradition started by the Worcester family of Harrington, Maine, in 1992. The organization is dedicated to honoring and thanking United States veterans for their service and sacrifice by placing wreaths at veterans’ graves at Arlington National Cemetery and over 1,200 participating locations in all 50 states, and 24 national veteran cemeteries on foreign soil on National Wreaths Across America Day, held annually in December.
