La Cañada Flintridge Calif. - The Allen Lund Company (ALC) participated in Navidad en el Barrio for the 10th consecutive year. With special effort from our Denver, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles offices we were able to secure fresh produce and vegetables for Christmas dinners donated to Southern California's neediest families. Donations came from: Wada Farms, Grimmway Farms, Rainier Fruit Company, Garofalo Pasta, Dayka & Hackett, Wonderful Citrus, and Taylor Farms. This years food baskets included: apples, oranges, grapes, carrots, peppers, potatoes, bagged lettuce, pasta, and arugula. Blake Belknap, Organic Sales Manager of Rainer Fruit, stated "Rainer Fruit is proud to recently join the Allen Lund Company in their decade long service to the impoverished. We are happy to give back from the blessings we've received, whether in Eastern Washington or Southern California. Thank you, Allen Lund, for your leadership in service to others." Mike Weaver of Dayka & Hackett added, "Working with the Allen Lund Company for transportation, we were able to provide a healthy addition to the Christmas dinner baskets provided to thousands of families in Southern California. We were happy to participate and so glad our grapes were included in the meal." This year Navidad en el Barrio fed over 15,000 families
