Visit highlights economic importance of American manufacturing and small businesses.

Coraopolis, PA. - Emphasizing its strong economic impact, President Trump toured UniCarriers Americas (UCA) dealer H&K Equipment, Inc. in Coraopolis, PA, on January 18th. During his visit, the President outlined the benefits of his new tax plan for small businesses and reiterated his support for American industry.

“The signs of America’s comeback can be seen at companies like H&K Equipment, which just had its most successful year in its 35 year history,” Trump said.

He added that H&K would soon make a $2.7 million capital investment as a direct result of his tax plan, signaling more growth and more jobs from the already thriving dealership.

Addressing an estimated crowd of 700 people, President Trump praised H&K as the “ideal American business” and commended its strong ties to the local and national economy. The President’s visit also put a spotlight on the economic value and importance of American manufacturers like UniCarriers Americas.

In attendance was UCA President James J. Radous III, who regarded the visit as the climax of a true American success story.

“We’re very proud of H&K Equipment, not just for their business success, but for their strong commitment to their customers and to their local economy,” said Radous.

“As I’ve stated before, forklifts are at the heart of commerce. As American manufacturers, we see it at a national level and small businesses like H&K Equipment really shine light on this impact at a state level. It’s exciting to see President Trump take notice,” he added.

Radous visited Washington in June to meet with legislators, including Illinois Representatives Randy Hultgren and Peter Roskam, as well as U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, to discuss the critical impact forklifts have on commerce. Hultgren and Durbin have visited UniCarriers Marengo facility (the latter in August) praising the company as a successful Illinois business that has added automation while re-training current staff and adding skilled labor.

As part of a growing narrative, more and more emphasis is being put on the material handling industry’s heavy economic impact on the United States economy – which is estimated to be around $25.7 billion.

UniCarriers Americas is an American manufacturer based in Marengo, Illinois. The company currently employs over 500 people at its facility and has been cited for its retention of employees while increasing automation.
