Ritco Logistics Limited has announced a strategic collaboration with the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) to execute large-scale, full-rake wheat movements. This initiative is designed to optimize the food supply chain by connecting surplus production hubs in North India to high-demand markets across the Eastern and Southern regions of the country. This operation manages high-volume rail movements over long distances, ensuring uninterrupted supply of this essential staple grain.
The initiative utilizes CONCOR's extensive rail network, deploying full rakes comprising 80 specialized container wagons to transport wheat efficiently from states like Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. With planned rake availability, fixed schedules, and round-the-clock coordination between Ritco's operations team and CONCOR's terminals, the movement minimizes transit times and reduces risks of supply disruptions. Each full rake can carry approximately 2500-2800 metric tons, enabling a scale that road transport cannot match cost-effectively. This supports India's food distribution ecosystem, where wheat forms a cornerstone of public distribution systems and milling operations.
