The Rush Group Family of Companies announced that Gregory Humes recently joined Rush Trucking, a freight transportation concern based in Wayne, Mich., as interim chief executive officer. “We are fortunate to welcome a seasoned executive with Greg’s experience and knowledge to help move Rush Trucking to the next level,” said Andra M. Rush, who is the founder and chair of The Rush Group Family of Companies, which owns Rush Trucking and also operates Dakkota Integrated Systems and Detroit Manufacturing Systems, auto suppliers formed through joint venture partnerships. Rush Trucking transports goods for Fortune 100 companies across the U.S. and Canada with 800 tractors and 1,350 trailers. Humes, a 30-year logistics and supply chain veteran, previously spearheaded the creation of logistics staffing school Driving for America, which provides training, certification and job placement in the trucking industry for military veterans. Before joining Driving for America, Humes held senior executive roles at major corporations, including chief operating officer at Landstar Supply Chain Solutions, president of National Logistics Management, president and chief executive of Vector SCM, a joint venture between General Motors and Menlo Worldwide that served as GM’s global supply chain enterprise, and president of Penske Logistics Global Automotive, where he oversaw supply chain logistics and services from order to delivery. “Our mission for The Rush Group Family of Companies is to identify key strategies for execution that will integrate and leverage us to provide a single solution for our customers,” said Rush. “And Greg is now an integral part of the team that is making that happen.”
